Why do people take selfies? Do we think we are cool? Are we self absorbed? Are we selfish? The picture above is from 1979 or 1980. That’s probably my first selfie. I look back at that time and I’m not in the same place as far as who I am. I gave Tony my Canon and said it would be cool to get a picture outside of the car looking in. We took the picture because it was cool to take the picture. No internet. We didn’t share it. The picture was looked at and put in a shoebox with the rest of the roll.
Totally different from today but the same.
The hang gliding pictures are technically selfies. I placed the camera on my wing, pointed it back at myself to take pictures, a selfie before GoPro cameras.
Anyway…
So I thought to myself, get it out of your system, put all the selfies in one place and get it over with.
Here it is, 196 selfies.
