Destined for my every day camera as a short, compact Zoom with a Micro focus, I chose this lens for its options and size. It gets a bad rap from Ken Rockwell. I don’t always take his word as the bottom line because frankly, I FAFO with things that really don’t matter.

I like this lens. I like that it’s compact and inexpensive and you can use it for what it was designed for and expect good results.

Anyway…

Others below own and enjoy this lens. Already I have a couple of rolls under my belt with it and I’m just waiting to see what those dev/scans and my experience is with it. One is a really nice scene in Flagstaff with a good color sunset. It was my first shot with it before #1 on the counter, the FG won’t PROGRAM the settings so I guessed…

  1. I’m really happy to see this post! I got a mint-condition used lens yesterday. I wonder how the photos are if I combine that lens with a Nikon D700.
