Film and Digital Photographs, a Comparison

I do not have mastery over the highly configurable Nikon D780 so it isn't an exact apple to apple comparison, but it does show the difference between the two formats through my lens at this time.

I do not post edit my photographs. They go up on the site as they are taken from the digital scan and camera. I'm not against postproduction, it's just over the years, I continue to see an increase in pictures that are screwed up by people that think they can make them better with their computer programs.
I don't do it. Not my style. My photography is for me, it's almost utilitarian to what I want to end up with...

What I want to illustrate here is the difference between film and digital photography and my love for Fuji Velvia film. I think it has brilliant color rendering; it's my favorite film by far.

This single photograph above is from a roll of 35mm Fuji Velvia 50 film, with a Nikon F3Nikkor 35mm f1.4

Compare it to the below image of the same petroglyph with the Nikon D780 and the Nikon D780AF-S Nikkor 28-85mm G ED VR FX zoomed to 35mm.

The above photograph is from 35mm Fuji Velvia 50 film, from a Nikon F3Nikkor 15mm f3.5 AIS at f8.

The below photograph was taken with a DSLR, Nikon D780 with the same Nikkor 15mm f3.5 AIS at f8.
