Nikon Series E 135mm f2.8 AIS

Nikon Series E

I watch YouTube channels for content on my interests. I try to view a wide variety to make sure that the information is good but it is an imperfect way to do it. I’m learning that there is good information online however, nothing replaces actual experience.

I found this channel of a guy that they call, “the Angry Photographer” He really doesn’t seem angry, just a sarcastic overweight bald white guy that has a lot of photography equipment. It’s interesting as I’ve read a bit about him now and have seen other YouTubers mention that his info is good yet I’ve seen exactly ZERO photographs he has taken. But he seems to know lens specifics and photography.

He rants about how good the Nikkor 135mm f2.8 is. Almost everything I’ve seen on this particular lens has been all positive so I bought the Series E version for $60 on eBay. Although I now understand that it isn’t the same internal lens make up as the Nikkor version, I’ve still gained the knowledge that this focal length and particularly Nikon’s version of it is going to be one that I choose more and more moving forward.

I’m learning about focal length from the use of my zoom lens yet I know that I’ll learn more by using prime lenses. Again like the Series E 50mm f1.8, the $60 I spent on my 135mm Series E, until my photography demands spending 4-5 times as much as that, I’ll be learning 135mm lens photography on my EM with this lens.

Below are a couple of images from that combination with Fuji Provia 100 film.
