Phoenix, AZ No Kings Protest - Saturday October 18, 2025

My wife always asks me, “Why don’t you carry a sign?” And I tell her the same thing, “My being there and my photography is my support.” She is right, I should probably make a sign but it’s almost too much already. You see, I shoot both digital and film, the rest of the story is being developed and scanned.

If you tap on that first image, it brings it into a viewing mode. Keep taping the pics, it’s a slide show. Or you can pick individual pictures…

But that first picture is my favorite of them all. It highlights the one guy and his sign among the organized chaos. That’s how it goes for me at these events. I’m there but I’m lost in the crowd. I just don’t like it that I have to attend but I have to. Things aren’t going to magically change. It’s a war of right and wrong.

I love America. I think it is still a pretty cool country but our rights are being eroded. The constitution is being trampled on, the rich are doing what the rich do. I’ll vote but I’m not so sure it even matters any more. I don’t think he really won last time but I think that’s probably just my blind faith that there are more good people than there really is.

Why wouldn’t a president try to unite America? We are the United States but this strange reality television guy is in charge. Definitely a grifter, selling bibles, knives, coins, selling you his ideas of America. The Republican party has lost its way, the Democrats too but by no means are they a malignancy of rude politics. They just forgot who voted for them and why.

Our country, politics needs caregivers, heroes and honest people that respect what the American dream is. We need normal people in office. But we have bad actors. Sycophants and politicians that have forgotten what it is to be young and getting started.

Anyway, here are my pictures, the digital ones anyway. I shot a roll of Kodak E-100 through a 28-300mm zoom and I believe that lens was just as good as the 18-35mm as you see here. I was able to compose from a distance, the 18-35mm I had to get up close and personal.

The Frog was very popular, so I had to jump in for the selfie

The above pictures are from the Nikon D780 with an 18-35mm lens, the below pictures are from a Nikon F100 with a 28-300mm lens, film camera shooting Kodak new Kodacolor 100.
