| D610 and the AF Nikkor 50mm f1.8 D |

There are a few low cost high performance lenses by Nikkor and the AF Nikkor 50mm f1.8 D is one of them. The series E 50mm f1.8 AI-S is another if you are a manual focus photography enthusiast. You can manually operate this lens on one of many Nikon manual focus or even AF cameras. I’m not that blogger to list those cameras I will however, list a couple of internet resources for further reading.
A 50mm lens is what I used when I got my first SLR in the late seventies. It was a Canon TX and I’m surprised I didn’t stick with Canon because of that. The Nikon F-mount lenses attachment system is what interested me in Nikon. Fully forward and backward compatible besides, Nikon was chosen by NASA as well. Kidding, but not really.
I’ll use the HR-2 rubber lens hood with it as it will fold back and act as a bumper, protector as well as working to prevent flare. It’s a compact lens and I’m going to take it to the skate park, museums, walking around and probably the most used inside the house pointed at family.

Edit: Highlighted lenses are no longer in my kit, I sold them.
I purchased the lens below from a professional photographer that I meet through my web site. I actually responded to an advertisement for the AF Nikkor 35-70mm f3.3-4.5 D and when I asked if he had any other lenses for sale, he said that he also had the 50 f1.8 which I used to own in manual focus AIS and Series E.

| I sold this copy and regretted the decision so I bought another one to replace it. |
